Around Abercynrig WalkA pleasant walk following farm tracks, green lanes, hillpaths and country lanes, including a small foray into Brecon town. The route crosses fields, affording good views of Brecon Cathedral before passing through woodland shimmering with bluebells in spring as you follow the Rivers Usk and Cynrig. You pass the Cynrig Salmon Hatchery, used to stock the River Taff, where you can view salmon and trout from fry to fully grown fish. Refreshments can be found in the White Swan in Llanfrynach where there is also an interesting old church. Enjoy stunning views of the Brecon Beacons as you continue towards Brecon, stopping to admire the architecture of Christ College which was founded by Henry VIII in 1541. Enjoy a mandatory ice cream stop in the local dairy before turning back towards The Held.
